VG News Portal was in September 2010 installed in Europe’s latest and most professional integrated newsroom – at Ringier’s “Blick” in Zurich.

- To be an important part of the news gathering in this completely integrated newsroom, tells us that the VG News Portal is a good idea and a complete product, confirms Mr. Vidar Meisingseth, Project Manager at VG News Portal in Oslo, Norway. -We are very pleased to provide the Ringier Media Group with our product.
In September the CEO of Ringier, Mr. Marc Walder, is one of the main attractions of the IFRA “9th International Newsroom Summit” in London.

VG News Portal is attending the conference with a stand where editors-in-chiefs, CEO’s and decision makers  from the media branch all around Europe may look into the program. Mr. Vidar Meisingseth from the Norwegian newspaper VG and Mr. Fredrik Davidsson from the software partner company, Teknograd AS, are also going to have a organized demonstration at the conference.

VG News Portal is an idea and a concept of making the readers and viewers to give leads to the news organizations or to give tipps by SMS, MMS, e-mail, telephone or the net.  At the same time the portal is a web tool where news editors can monitor the incoming flow of news from readers live and take very quick actions. The winner in the news fight is very often the one who is first on the scene.
For especially the large news organizations the portal is also a efficient tool to distribute the news to departments and/or regions. And a way to save money.

Among the about 15 media houses on VG News Portal’s customer list, are the Sun and News of the World in London, RTL Television in Germany, Kronen Zeitung in Austria, Het Laatste Nieuws in Brussels and many small and large newspapers in Europe, US and South America.

Verdens Gang (VG) is Norway’s largest media company house and a part of the successful Schibsted Media group.
