VG has been collecting tips and leads from their readers for almost 40 years. In 2004 VG saw the need for organizing the chaotic flow of different information from the readers into one web news portal. There you can monitor the incoming flow of news live, take quick decisions and easy distribute to other departments or units inside the company.

VG News Portal -located in Oslo, Norway – is a department within the VG Media House. We are selling and renting the software and are responsible for new upgrades of the software. Teknograd is taking care of the support.

The idea of the further development of VGNP is together with the users -i.e. the journalists – to find new and useful tools to integrate into the portal.
