"One great example was Vidar Meisingseths presentation about VG News Portal, a Norwegian news site that gets a huge percentage of its revenue from online and a substantial amount of news from amateur photographers and "tips" that come in via SMS, phone and email".

Joichi Ito, senior visiting researcher at the Keio Research Institute. He was commenting VG News Portal at the "Electronic Media - Challenges & Opportunities" conference in Abu Dhabi in November. Joichi Ito is among other things a board member of the Mozilla Foundation and named by Businessweek as on of the 25 most influential People on the Web in 2008.

VG 1st prize winners

The VG logo was found all over the IFRA in Amsterdam. - We are very happy to be the winner of IFRA "XMA Cross Media Awards 2008", said CEO of VG, Mr Torry Pedersen, just after receiving the 1st prize. And when he visited the VG News Portal booth, he was very satisfied with the number of visitors to the stand. - In spite of fewer visitors to the IFRA Expo this year, we had more interested people than ever who wanted to talk with us, says Project Manager, Vidar Meisingseth. And the new version 3.0 with a lot of news features, looked very promising for both existing customers and new media companies who are going to use the VG News Portal.
